Las Vegas, Nevada Flood Zones
While the Las Vegas desert doesn't get
much rain, most people wouldn't think there would be any threat
of flooding. The truth of the matter is that when it rains for
even as little as an hour, it creates havoc throughout the entire
city.
Prior to purchasing a home in the Las Vegas Valley, it's
important to ask if the property is situated in a flood zone.
Accurate information from the City of Las Vegas or Clark County
can be attained.
The city of Las Vegas Flood Control Section can determine which
property is located within a designated flood hazard area within
Las Vegas City limits. Residents are advised to access the Clark
County Regional Flood Control District website www.ccrfcd.org
and click the Flood Zone application to see if the property
is within a designated flood hazard area.
For a verbal response, call the Flood Control Section at 229-6541.
If you require a written determination, a fee of $ 20 is charged
for each official Flood Zone Determination.
